Auðgeirr is a Swedish brand that was founded in 2020 with the aim of creating an offer of products for the kitchen with high quality, beautiful design and which are easy to work with. We have a great interest in food and cooking and know that good equipment in the kitchen makes cooking both easier and more enjoyable.
The product offering consist o a limited selection of products that all meet the high demands and expectations we have defined for the brand and which have been selected through a thorough process. Both professional chefs as, knife sharpeners as well as private amateur chefs have been participating in this process that have resulted in the current assortment of products under the brand name Audgeirr.
In addition to quality knives, Auðgeirr's range consists of other related products for the kitchen, which also maintain the same high quality and have an equally beautiful design and layout. We call it simply functional beauty.
What does Auðgeirr mean?
The name Auðgeirr itself is an Old Nordic male name that derives from the old Anglo-Saxon name Edgar. The name is composed of "Auður" which means wealth or prosperity and "geir" which means spear or sword. The name appeared in the Nordics during the Middle Ages and was carried by several prominent swordsmen and warriors. Today, as far as we know, there is no person in the Nordics who bears the name.
